The animal’s health condition is currently satisfactory.
A male zebra named Sero escaped from Seoul Zoo and wandered the streets of the South Korean capital for three hours, attempting to find food in garbage bins.
The animal, named Sero (which means “vertical” in Korean), escaped from the zoo on Thursday evening. It is reported that the zebra broke through the wooden fence surrounding its enclosure and went on a stroll.
City residents captured numerous videos of Sero walking along streets filled with cars and people, occasionally peering into garbage bins.
Finally, zoo staff managed to corral the zebra into one of the narrow streets and then shot a tranquilizer dart at it. The animal fell asleep, and it was later placed in a truck and sent back to the zoo.
Sero is approximately two years old – he was born in the Seoul Zoo in 2021.
According to zoo staff, the animal’s health condition is currently satisfactory.
The Seoul Zoo’s website states that it houses over 400 animals of 38 different species.
