What to do if you find a fox cub or other baby woodland creatures?

Experts have shared guidelines on how to behave when encountering a baby wild animal.

People often bring baby foxes, deer, bird chicks of predatory birds from the forest, thinking that they are saving wild animal babies from certain death.

However, experts advise against doing so.

Experts emphasize that some people immediately take their finding to a zoo, while others keep the wild animal in their house for many months.

This should not be done! Feelings of care and the desire to save the baby are often unjustified. Removing a wild animal from its natural habitat can lead to its demise.

For many babies, falling out of the nest is a natural process of development through which bird chicks learn to fly.

And fawns learn to forage for food on their own while their parents watch from a distance.

Human intervention only scares away adult deer and condemns the baby to death.

Therefore, if you come across a baby wild animal in the forest “unattended” by its parents, the best thing you can do is to leave, creating as little noise as possible and not drawing attention to yourself.

Babies should not be touched with hands, photographed, or exposed to any other form of danger.

In addition, removing wild animals from their natural habitat is a violation of the law, as it is considered poaching, even for “noble” intentions.
