Über die Rasse Zwergschnauzer.

The Zwerschnauzer is the smallest service dog breed and its appearance gives the impression of intelligent austerity. This is influenced by its pronounced eyebrows, luxuriant beard and sharp gaze. The name of this breed consists of two parts, translated from German: “zwerg” – dwarf; “schnauze” – bearded face. These are the smallest representatives of the schnauzer family, which owe their origin to medium schnauzers – Mittels.

The homeland of these beautiful dogs is Germany. The first mentions of new representatives of schnauzers date back to the XIX-XX century. It is not known for certain what breeds were used, but most experts are inclined to believe that there distinguished themselves there poodles, Affenpinchers and even Spitzes. The first Zwergschnauzer was registered in 1888 and the first show was held in 1899. In the early years, these dogs were used to guard homes or farms, but later on, due to their speed and size, Zwergschnauzers began to fight rodents.

Zwergschnauzers are very intelligent and savvy dogs. In their relationship with their master, they are able to assess the situation, quickly orient and adapt to certain conditions. Realizing that he is allowed to do a lot of fun things, they begin to manipulate the owner. To prevent this behavior with Zwergschnauzers, you need to immediately establish the rules of interaction and living. Everything that you want to see in the behavior of an adult dog, you need to study with a puppy. You should start from the first days of the puppy’s arrival in the house. While your doggy is in quarantine you can teach the baby a name, the command “place”, put on ammunition. It will be a great option to invite friends over and train your puppy to respond calmly to guests. Build interaction through positive motivation and positive reinforcement.

Despite their service characteristics, Dwarf Schnauzers will not appreciate a harsh mechanical approach and roughness. Tasty treats and playful motivation are much more effective. In order to choose the right method of training, it is better to contact an experienced cynologist, who will help to master the effective methods of education for your pet.

For a puppy and young Zwergschnauzer, it is important not only to learn commands, but also to socialize. A good solution would be group classes at a training ground. Also visit different public places, teach your dog to ride in different transportation. The more interesting things you show your baby, the more adapted your Zwergschnauzer will be to life in the big city.

In today’s world, cute beardies are companion dogs that adore their family. They treat other people in a friendly manner, but also cautiously. If the dog is called by a stranger, the Zwergschnauzer may pay attention, but will not go anywhere. This behavior is influenced by the working qualities of the breed, to divide people into their own and strangers.

They love to communicate with children, willingly support children’s games and fun. Despite the playful behavior, Zwergschnauzers always closely observe the world around them. In the United States, representatives of this breed are trained to protect and guard children.

Also good relations with other animals in the house, will be friendly with both cats and other dogs. But with guinea pigs or other rodents it is better not to leave alone, because instincts can prevail in their relationship.

Zwerschnauzers are brave dogs that serve in the police force, helping to check luggage at customs houses in search of drugs and explosives. They also take part in the search for people in natural and man-made locations. In Ukraine, small bearded dogs are involved in canisteropia with children and military men.

In sports, this breed also does not lag behind. Zwergschnauzers show good results in various obedience and agility standards.

Because of their small size, they are often called compact and are well suited for apartment living. Zwerschnauzers are wonderful companions, well able to adapt to the lifestyle of their people. Suitable for both active people and elderly people. Despite the plasticity of the breed, you should not forget about the needs of the dog in a sufficient and varied walk. For an adult dog, the number of outings should be at least twice a day. From the motion of the animal depends on physical and mental health, because a dog that walks an insufficient amount of time and does not have enough mental load, can experience stress, which can provoke neurosis. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the content of the walk. Conditionally, it can be divided into three components: physiological processes, physical and mental load. On the street with Zwergschnauzers can spend time very diversely. Dogs will support the owner’s desire to play with toys (it can be a game of tugging or importing); to mention old or learn new commands; they will gladly search for a lost toy or the owner’s things.

Zwergschnauzers are called handy, they need minimal maintenance costs. Compared to many other small breeds, little bearded dogs are low-maintenance and do not require special care for their ears and dental system. Despite the care of hair and mandatory haircuts (trimming), the Zwergschnauzer has a big advantage – they do not shed, the coat does not have an unpleasant odor. Suitable for people suffering from allergies.

Dogs of this breed have good health, they are not prone to allergies, have a good appetite and do not overeat.

The appearance of the Zwergschnauzer is very elegant. They have a large color palette of coat: pure white, pure black, pepper and salt, black and silver.

In exterior Zwerschnauzers differ according to the owner’s wish: not bought (leave ears and tail), partially bought, fully bought (ears and tail). There are many opinions and debates on the subject of buying dogs, in many countries it is forbidden. For the Zwerg Schnauzer, coupling is not only a matter of exterior. As mentioned earlier, historically the breed was used to hunt rats and other rodents. The current representatives have been observed to shake their heads and tilt their ears to better hear a sound. How the dog will look depends on the owner.

According to the owner and breed connoisseur: the Zwergschnauzer is a big dog in a small body. These dogs are very active, playful and hardy. Zwerschnauzers combine all the working qualities of their big brothers, the Mettelschnauzer and the Riesenschnauzer. They charge everyone around with their optimism and cheerfulness. At the same time they are really constantly on guard, constantly monitoring the perimeter, sometimes they can be too serious, but watching them we have the impression that these dogs radiate positivity to everything. Training a Zwergschnauzer is a great pleasure for owners.
